(135) بَابُ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ بِالْمَمْلُوكِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِتْقِ الْمُتَصَدِّقِ إِيَّاهُ إِنْ صَحَّ الْخَبَرُ135 Subchapter: Charity by giving a slave is better than freeing him, if authentic
Hadith 2434
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُرَادِيُّ بِخَبَرٍ غَرِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ هُوَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَادِمًا فَأَعْطَاهَا ، فَأَعْتَقَهَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّكِ لَوْ أَعْطَيْتِهَا أَخْوَالَكِ كَانَ أَعْظَمَ لأَجْرِكِ " . مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ هَذَا هُوَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ الضَّرِيرُ
Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah narrates from Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for a servant, so he gave her one. Then Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) set him free. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If you had given this servant to your maternal relatives, it would have been more rewarding for you." By Muhammad bin Hazim is meant Abu Muawiyah al-Dareer.
