(131) بَابُ فَضْلِ الصَّدَقَةِ131 Subchapter: Virtue of charity
Hadith 2426
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّازِقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا تَصَدَّقَ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ تَقَبَّلَهَا اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ، وَأَخَذَهَا بِيَمِينِهِ ، فَرَبَّاهَا كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مُهْرَهُ ، أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِاللُّقْمَةِ ، فَتَرْبُوا فِي يَدِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ قَالَ : فِي كَفِّ اللَّهِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الْجَبَلِ فَتَصَدَّقُوا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a servant gives charity from his lawful and pure earnings, Allah accepts it and takes it in His right hand, and nurtures it just as one of you nurtures his foal or calf. Indeed, a person gives charity of a single morsel, and it is nurtured in the hand of Allah—or he said: 'in the palm of Allah'—until it becomes like a mountain. Therefore, give charity."
