(126) بَابُ ذِكْرِ ثَنَاءِ اللَّهِ- عَزَّ وَجَلَّ- عَلَى مُؤَدِّي صَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ126 Subchapter: Mentioning Allah’s praise for those who give zakat al-fitr
Hadith 2420
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ ، وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ الأَسْلَمِيُّ الْمَدِينِيُّ بِخَبَرٍ غَرِيبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ : قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى سورة الأعلى آية 14 - 15 ، فَقَالَ : " أُنْزِلَتْ فِي زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ "
Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the meaning and explanation of this blessed verse was asked from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) « قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ، وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ » Surah [ الأعلى : 14 ۔ 15 ] "Indeed, successful is the one who purified himself, and remembered the name of his Lord, then prayed." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This was revealed about those who give Sadaqat al-Fitr."
