Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) used to state that the charity of Ramadan is one sa’ of grain. Whoever gives wheat, it will be accepted from him. Whoever gives barley, it will be taken from him. Whoever gives dates, it will be accepted from him. Whoever gives Hijazi barley, it will be accepted from him. And whoever gives raisins, it will be received from him. In my opinion, he also said: And whoever gives flour or sattu, it will be taken from him. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the previous narration of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them), number 2415, is also related to this issue.
