(119) بَابُ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِصَدَقَةِ نِصْفِ صَّاعِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ أَحْدَثَهُ النَّاسُ بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّ الْمُصْطَفَى صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.119 Subchapter: Evidence that giving half a sa’ of wheat was introduced after the Prophet
Hadith 2406
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الزَّرَدِ الأُبُلِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ غَزَوَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " لَمْ تَكُنِ الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلا التَّمْرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ وَالشَّعِيرُ ، وَلَمْ تَكُنِ الْحِنْطَةُ "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that in the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sadaqat al-Fitr was given from dates, raisins, and barley. Wheat was not given as charity.
