(84) بَابُ إِعْطَاءِ الْعَامِلِ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ مِنْهَا رِزْقًا لِعَمَلِهِ،84| Chapter on giving the zakat worker his wages from zakat
Hadith 2366
وَحَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُعْطِي ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، فَيَقُولُ عُمَرُ : أَعْطِهِ أَفْقَرَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي ، فَقَالَ : " خُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلْهُ ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ " ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ حُوَيْطِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would give wealth to Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would say: "Please give this wealth to someone who is more in need than me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take it and make it a means of wealth for yourself, or give it in charity." Then the rest of the hadith was mentioned.
