It is narrated from the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Sayyiduna Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took a young camel as a loan from a man and said: “When the wealth of zakat comes, we will repay you.” Then, when the wealth of zakat arrived, he said to Sayyiduna Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him): “Give this man a young camel.” So I looked at the camels, and among them were camels with four teeth or older. I informed the Prophet (ﷺ) of this (that the required age camel was not present, all were older than that). The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Give it to him, for the best among people is the one who is best in repaying debts.”
