(51) بَابُ السُّنَّةِ فِي قَدْرِ مَا يُؤْمَرُ الْخَارِصُ بِتَرْكِهِ مِنَ الثِّمَارِ51| Chapter on the Sunnah regarding how much the estimator should leave of the fruit
Hadith 2320
حَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ ، فَخُذُوا وَدَعُوا الثُّلُثَ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَدَعُوا الثُّلُثَ ، فَدَعُوا الرُّبُعَ "
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When you estimate the fruits, then (collect Zakat) according to that, and leave one third. And if you cannot leave one third, then leave one fourth."
