Hazrat Yazid bin Khalid Jahni (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that he asked Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) about a person who has intercourse but does not ejaculate semen (so what should he do?). He replied that it is not obligatory for him to perform ghusl. Then Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he heard this ruling from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). (Yazid, may Allah have mercy on him) says that then he asked Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib, Sayyiduna Zubair bin Awwam, Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaidullah, and Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them) about this issue, and they also gave the same answer. Hazrat Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that 'Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to him that he asked Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) about this issue, and he also reported the same answer from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
