Hadith 2239
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "In the days of ignorance, I vowed to observe i'tikaf for one night." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fulfill your vow."
