Hadith 2208
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُرَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِذَا النَّاسُ فِي رَمَضَانَ يُصَلُّونَ فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا هَؤُلاءِ ؟ " فَقِيلَ : هَؤُلاءِ نَاسٌ لَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ قُرْآنٌ ، وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ ، وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلاتِهِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَصَابُوا " ، أَوْ " نِعْمَ مَا صَنَعُوا "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and suddenly saw some people praying in a corner of the mosque during the blessed month of Ramadan. He (peace be upon him) inquired: "Who are these people?" It was submitted to him that these people do not have the Qur'an memorized and Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) is leading them in prayer and they are praying behind him. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These people have done the right thing or they have chosen a very good way."
