(170) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِالْوُضُوءِ لِلْجُنُبِ عِنْدَ إِرَادَةِ الْأَكْلِ أَمْرُ نَدْبٍ وَإِرْشَادٍ وَفَضِيلَةٍ وَإِبَاحَةٍ.Chapter 170: Evidence that the command for ablution before eating for one in major impurity is a recommendation
Hadith 218
نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الأَيْلِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ، غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ طَعِمَ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to eat something while in a state of janabah, he would wash both his hands and then eat.
