Hazrat Humaid narrates that it was asked from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) about the fasts of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said that the Prophet would keep fasting in a month to such an extent that we would think he does not want to leave any day without fasting in that month. And then he would stop fasting in a month to such an extent that we would think he will not fast at all in that month. And you could see him praying at any part of the night if you wished, and if you wished, you could see him sleeping. This narration is from Isma'il bin Ja'far. And in the narration of Khalid bin Harith, it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the voluntary prayers and fasts of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
