Hadith 2133
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُرَادِيُّ ، وَبَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : " كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لا يُفْطِرُ ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لا يَصُومُ ، وَكَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ أَوْ عَامَّةَ شَعْبَانَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman that he asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the manner of the fasts of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so she replied: He would fast (so continuously) that we would say he will not leave fasting, and then he would stop fasting to the extent that we would begin to say he will not fast now. He used to fast the entire month of Sha’ban or most of Sha’ban.
