(165) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْوُضُوءَ الَّذِي أُمِرَ بِهِ الْجُنُبُ لِلنَّوْمِ كَوُضُوءِ الصَّلَاةِ، إِذِ الْعَرَبُ قَدْ تُسَمِّي غَسْلَ الْيَدَيْنِ وُضُوءًا.Chapter 165: Evidence that the ablution ordered for one in major impurity before sleep is like prayer ablution
Hadith 213
نا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَفِظْنَاهُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ، تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاةِ "
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), he would perform ablution (wudu) as he did for prayer.
