Hadith 2118

وَحَدِيثُ وَحَدِيثُ شُعْبَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، سُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِهِ ، فَغَضِبَ ، وَسُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ الاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ ، قَالَ : " ذَاكَ يَوْمٌ يَعْنِي الاثْنَيْنِ ، وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ ، وَبُعِثْتُ فِيهِ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ فِيهِ " . وَفِي حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ : سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيَّ
In the narration of Imam Shu’bah, it is mentioned that when Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was asked about his fasting, he became very displeased. And when he was asked about fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, he (ﷺ) said: “On Monday I was born, and on that day I was granted Prophethood,” or he said: “On that day revelation was sent down to me.”
