Hadith 2095
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ , حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ , أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى , عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صُومُوا يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ , وَخَالِفُوا الْيَهُودَ , صُومُوا قَبْلَهُ يَوْمًا , أَوْ بَعْدَهُ يَوْمًا "
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fast on the day of Ashura and oppose the Jews; fast a day before it or a day after it as well."
