(156) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ مَسْحَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْقَدَمَيْنِ كَانَ وَهُوَ طَاهِرٌ لَا مُحْدِثٌ.Chapter 156: Evidence that the Prophet wiped over his feet while in a state of purity, not impurity
Hadith 202
نا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نا جَرِيرٌ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، كِلاهُمَا ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلَكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي النَّزَّالُ بْنُ سَبْرَةَ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ الظُّهْرَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا إِلَى الرَّحْبَةِ ، قَالَ : " فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ شَرَابٌ فَأَخَذَهُ فَمَضْمَضَ ، قَالَ مَنْصُورٌ : أَرَاهُ قَالَ : وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ، وَمَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ، وَرَأْسَهُ ، وَقَدَمَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ شَرِبَ فَضْلَهُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّ نَاسًا يَكْرَهُونَ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا وَهُمْ قِيَامٌ ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعْتُ " ، وَقَالَ : " هَذَا وُضُوءُ مَنْ لَمْ يُحْدِثْ " ، هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ زَائِدَةَ
Hazrat Nazzal bin Sabrah narrates that we offered the Zuhr prayer with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), then we went towards the courtyard (of the mosque). He says that he (Ali) asked for a water vessel, took that water and rinsed his mouth. Mansur says that I think he said that he put water in his nose and wiped his face, both arms, his head, and both his feet. Then he drank the remaining water while standing. Then he said that some people dislike drinking while standing, but indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did just as I have done. And he said that this is the ablution of a person whose ablution has not been invalidated. These are the words of Zaidah’s narration.
