Hadith 1950
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَقَالَ : فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِكْتَلٍ فِيهِ خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ أَوْ عِشْرُونَ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُذْهُ , فَأَطْعِمْهُ عَنْكَ "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a basket was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in which there were fifteen or twenty sa’ of dates. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Take this and feed (the poor) on your behalf.”
