Hadith 194

Hazrat Shuraih bin Hani (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about wiping over leather socks (khuffs), so she said: Go to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and ask him, because he knows more about this than I do. He (Hazrat Shuraih) went to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about wiping over leather socks, so he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command that a resident may wipe for one day and night, and a traveler for three days and nights.
