Hadith 19

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَهُوَ الأَعْمَشُ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : اسْتَحْيَيْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ مِنْ أَجْلِ فَاطِمَةَ ، فَأَمَرْتُ الْمِقْدَادَ بْنَ الأَسْوَدِ ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ "

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I felt shy to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the issue of madhi (pre-seminal fluid) because of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), so I instructed Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask about this issue. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wudu (ablution) is (obligatory) for it (madhi)."
