Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon on the pulpit on the day of Jumu’ah when a man asked, “O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?” The companions signaled to him to remain silent. But he asked the same question three times. Each time, the companions signaled to him to remain silent. Then, after the third time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Woe to you! What preparation have you made for the Hour?” He replied, “The love of Allah and His Messenger.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, you will be with those whom you love.” Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a while. Then a young boy passed by. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I say that he was my age; he had reached puberty or was close to it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Where is the one who asked about the Hour?” He said, “I am here.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If this boy lives out his full life, he will not die without seeing the signs of the Hour.”
