(194) بَابُ رَدِّ الْمَأْمُومِ عَلَى الْإِمَامِ إِذَا سَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ عِنْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الصَّلَاةِ.194| Chapter on the follower responding to the imam’s salam at the end of prayer
Hadith 1710
نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، نا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ أَبُو بِشْرٍ صَاحِبُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الأَسْفَاطِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، نا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُسَلِّمَ عَلَى أَيْمَانِنَا , وَأَنْ يَرُدَّ بَعْضُنَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ " . قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ : وَأَنْ يُسَلِّمَ بَعْضُنَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ . زَادَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ : قَالَ هَمَّامٌ : يَعْنِي فِي الصَّلاةِ
Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to greet those on our right side with salam and that we should reply to each other's salam. In the narration of Muhammad bin Yazid, it is mentioned that we should say salam to each other. In the narration of Ibrahim, there is an addition that Hammam says: that is, (say salam) during the prayer (when turning for salam).
