Hadith 1687
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي الدِّمَشْقِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بِمِثْلِهِ . وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : وَإِنَّمَا قُلْتُ : وَلا ، هَلْ سَمِعَ قَتَادَةُ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، لِرِوَايَةِ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ؛ لأَنَّهُ أَسْقَطَ مُوَرِّقًا مِنَ الإِسْنَادِ ، وَهَمَّامٌ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ أَدْخَلا فِي الإِسْنَادِ مُوَرِّقًا ، وَإِنَّمَا شَكَكْتُ أَيْضًا فِي صِحَّتِهِ لأَنِّي لا أَقِفُ عَلَى سَمَاعِ قَتَادَةَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ مِنْ مُوَرِّقٍ
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a narration similar to the one mentioned above. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Indeed, I had said that I do not even know whether Qatadah heard this hadith from Abu’l-Ahwas or not? I said this based on the narration of Sulaiman Taimi, which Qatadah narrates from Abu’l-Ahwas, but omits the intermediary of Mawraq from the chain, whereas Hammam and Sa’id bin Basheer have mentioned the intermediary of Mawraq (between Qatadah and Abu’l-Ahwas) in the chain. Indeed, I also doubt the authenticity of this hadith because it is not known whether Qatadah heard this hadith from Mawraq or not.
