(175) بَابُ اخْتِيَارِ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فِي بَيْتِهَا عَلَى صَلَاتِهَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، إِنْ ثَبَتَ الْخَبَرُ،175| Chapter on preferring a woman’s prayer in her house over her prayer in the mosque, if the report is authentic
Hadith 1686
نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الْمَرْأَةُ عَوْرَةٌ ، وَإِنَّهَا إِذَا خَرَجَتِ اسْتَشْرَفَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ ، وَإِنَّهَا لا تَكُونُ إِلَى وَجْهِ اللَّهِ أَقْرَبَ مِنْهَا فِي قَعْرِ بَيْتِهَا " ، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: “A woman is (like) a veil, and indeed when she goes out of her house, Satan looks at her, and verily she is closest to the pleasure of her Lord when she is inside her house.” Or as he (peace be upon him) said.
