(168) بَابُ إِمَامَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ النِّسَاءَ فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ168| Chapter on a woman leading other women in obligatory prayer
Hadith 1676
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ جَمِيعٍ ، عَنْ لَيْلَى بِنْتِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا ، وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَلادٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ وَرَقَةَ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : " انْطَلِقُوا بِنَا نَزُورُ الشَّهِيدَةَ " ، وَأَذِنَ لَهَا أَنْ تُؤَذِّنَ لَهَا ، وَأَنْ تَؤُمَّ أَهْلَ دَارِهَا فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ ، وَكَانَتْ قَدْ جَمَعَتِ الْقُرْآنَ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Waraqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Come with us, let us visit the martyr lady." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had permitted her that the call to prayer (adhan) be given for her, and that she should lead the obligatory prayers for her household (women and children), and she was a memorizer of the Noble Qur'an.
