(136) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ الْأُولَى الَّتِي يُصَلِّيهَا الْمَرْءُ فِي وَقْتِهَا تَكُونُ فَرِيضَةً،136| Chapter on evidence that the first prayer performed in its time is the obligatory one
Hadith 1640
نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَعَلَّكُمْ سَتُدْرِكُونَ أَقْوَامًا يُصَلُّونَ الصَّلاةَ لِغَيْرِ وَقْتِهَا ، فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُمُوهُمْ ، فَصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لَلْوَقْتِ الَّذِي تَعْرِفُونَ ، ثُمَّ صَلُّوا مَعَهُمْ ، وَاجْعَلُوهَا سُبْحَةً "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perhaps soon you will encounter people who will perform the prayer after its (prescribed) time—so if you find such people, then perform the prayer in your homes at its proper time, then perform the prayer with those people and make it a voluntary (nafl) prayer."
