(130) بَابُ إِبَاحَةِ ائْتِمَامِ الْمُصَلِّي فَرِيضَةً بِالْمُصَلِّي نَافِلَةً،130| Chapter on the permissibility of following someone praying a voluntary prayer while one is praying an obligatory prayer
Hadith 1633
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، نا ابْنُ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ يُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ فَيَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ ، فَيُصَلِّي بِهِمْ تِلْكَ الصَّلاةَ "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then would return and lead his people in prayer, and he would recite the same prayer for them.
