Hadith 1608
نا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، فَقَالَ : كَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ بَعَثَنِي عَلَى الطَّائِفِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا عُثْمَانُ تَجَوَّزْ فِي الصَّلاةِ ، وَاقْدُرِ النَّاسَ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ ؛ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالسَّقِيمَ ، وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ "
Hazrat Mutarrif narrates that I went to the service of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said that when the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me as the governor of Ta’if, his last advice to me was: "O Uthman, lead the prayer briefly and lightly, and (while leading) take care of the weak among the people, because among those who pray there are elderly, weak, sick, and people with needs."
