(79) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ أُولِي الْأَحْلَامِ وَالنُّهَى أَحَقُّ بِالصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِأَنَ يَلُوهُ.79| Clarification that those of intellect and understanding are most entitled to the first row as the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered them to be close to him
Hadith 1572
نا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لِيَلِنِي مِنْكُمْ أُولُو الأَحْلامِ وَالنُّهَى ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، وَلا تَخْتَلِفُوا ، فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهَيْشَاتِ الأَسْوَاقِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let those among you who are wise and intelligent stand close to me, then those who are nearest to them (in understanding and discernment), then those who are nearest to them. And do not differ among yourselves, otherwise your hearts will also become different, and avoid the noise and commotion of the markets (in the mosques)."
