(48) بَابُ ذِكْرِ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْأَئِمَّةِ بِالرَّشَادِ48| The Prophet's (ﷺ) supplication for guidance for the imams
Hadith 1532
نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، نا عَمِّي ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بِمِثْلِهِ سَوَاءً ، وَقَالَ: قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ: " وَعَفَا عَنِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: الأَعْمَشُ أَحْفَظُ مِنْ مِائَتَيْنِ مِثْلَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: «وَعَفَا عَنِ الْمَؤَذِّن» "May Allah forgive the muezzin." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the narrator A’mash is superior in memory and accuracy to more than two hundred narrators like Muhammad bin Abi Salih.
