(687) بَابُ تَرْكِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الْمُصَلَّى قَبْلَ الْعِيدَيْنِ وَبَعْدَهَا اقْتِدَاءً بِالنَّبِيِّ وَاسْتِنَانًا بِهِ687| Not praying in the prayer place before or after the two Eid prayers, following the Prophet's example
Hadith 1436
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ أَوْ أَضْحًى وَأَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلا بَعْدَهَا ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ وَمَعَهُ بِلالٌ فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ ، فَجَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ تُلْقِي خِرْصَهَا وَصَخَابِهَا "
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha. I think he mentioned Eid al-Fitr. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led two units of prayer. He did not perform any prayer before or after it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the women, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed them to give charity. So the women began to take off their rings and necklaces and started giving them to (Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him).
