(672) بَابُ الْجَهْرِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فِي صَلَاةِ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ،672| Reciting aloud in the rain prayer
Hadith 1420
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " خَرَجَ يَسْتَسْقِي ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَوَلِيَ النَّاسُ ظَهْرَهُ ، وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ ، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، قَرَأَ فِيهِمَا ، وَجَهَرَ فِيهِمَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ "
Abbad bin Tamim narrates from his uncle that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out for the prayer of Istisqa (prayer for rain), he faced the Qiblah and turned his back to the people. He turned his cloak inside out, led them in two rak'ahs, and recited (Qur'an) in them. And he recited aloud in them.
