It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out towards the Eid ground, he supplicated for rain. He (peace be upon him) turned his cloak and performed two rak‘ahs of prayer. The narrator of the hadith, Abu Bakr, says: I asked Hazrat ‘Abbad bin Tamim, “Tell us, did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turn the upper part of the cloak downwards or the lower part upwards, or how did he turn it?” He replied, “No, rather the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) switched the right side to the left and the left side to the right.”
