(661) بَابُ الْخُطْبَةِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ661| Sermon before the rain prayer
Hadith 1407
نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ مِنْ أَصْلِهِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ : " خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الاسْتِسْقَاءِ ، فَخَطَبَ ، وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَدَعَا ، وَاسْتَسْقَى ، وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ وَصَلَّى بِهِمْ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to pray for rain. He delivered a sermon, faced the Qiblah, supplicated, asked for rain, turned his cloak around, and led the companions in prayer.
