(634) بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْإِمَامِ الْمَغْرِبَ بِالْمَأْمُومِينَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ634| The imam leading the Maghrib fear prayer with the congregation
Hadith 1368
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ الْقَيْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى بِالْقَوْمِ صَلاةَ الْمَغْرِبِ ثَلاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ ، وَجَاءَ الآخَرُونَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ ثَلاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ ، فَكَانَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِتٌّ رَكَعَاتٍ ، وَلِلْقَوْمِ ثَلاثٌ ثَلاثٌ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah رضي الله عنه that the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم led the companions in the Maghrib prayer (as a prayer of fear) with three rak‘ahs, then after finishing the prayer, another group came, so the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم led them also in three rak‘ahs. In this way, the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم performed six rak‘ahs, and the companions performed three rak‘ahs each.
