(603) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ إِيطَانِ الرَّجُلِ الْمَكَانَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ،The chapter on the prohibition of reserving a spot in the mosque
Hadith 1319
نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، وَأَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ مَحْمُودٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِبْلٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَقْرَةِ الْغُرَابِ ، وَافْتِرَاشِ السَّبْعِ ، وَأَنْ يُوَطِّنَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَكَانَ أَوِ الْمَقَامَ كَمَا يُوَطِّنُهُ الْبَعِيرُ " يَعْنِي فِي الْمَسْجِدِ
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade pecking like a crow (in prayer), spreading the arms like a beast, and reserving a specific place or spot in the mosque for oneself in the manner that a camel designates a place for sitting.
