جماع أبواب صلاة التطوع قاعداChapters on Voluntary Prayers while Sitting
(554) بَابُ إِبَاحَةِ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ جَالِسًا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِالْمَرْءِ عِلَّةٌ مِنْ مَرَضٍ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ قَائِمًاThe chapter on the permissibility of praying voluntary prayers while sitting, even without illness
Hadith 1239
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ ابْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَزَّازُ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صُدْرَانَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يَمُتْ حَتَّى كَانَ مِنْ أَكْثَرِ صَلاتِهِ جَالِسًا " . وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَابْنُ صُدْرَانَ : حَتَّى كَانَ كَثِيرٌ مِنْ صَلاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to perform most of his prayers sitting before his death. The words of Ibn Rafi’ and Ibn Sudran are: "Until most of the prayers of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were performed while he was sitting."
