(94) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ الْقَصْدِ فِي صَبِّ الْمَاءِ، وَكَرَاهَةِ التَّعَدِّي فِيهِ، وَالْأَمْرِ بِاتِّقَاءِ وَسْوَسَةِ الْمَاءِChapter 94: Recommendation to be moderate in pouring water, dislike of excess, and warning against obsessive doubts
Hadith 122

نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، نا خَارِجَةُ ابْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُتَيِّ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلْوُضُوءِ شَيْطَانًا يُقَالَ لَهُ وَلَهَانُ ، فَاتَّقُوا وَسْوَاسَ الْمَاءِ "
Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "There is a devil of ablution who is called Walhan, so beware of the doubts regarding water."
