(532) بَابُ فَضْلِ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ فِي عَقِبِ كُلِّ وُضُوءٍ يَتَوَضَّؤُهُ الْمُحْدِثُThe chapter on the virtue of voluntary prayer after every ablution
Hadith 1208
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ ، وَقَالَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ : قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو حَيَّانَ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ ، نَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِبِلالٍ عِنْدَ صَلاةِ الْفَجْرِ : " يَا بِلالُ ! حَدِّثْنِي بِأَرْجَى عَمَلٍ عَمِلْتَهُ عِنْدَكَ مَنْفَعَةً فِي الإِسْلامِ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ اللَّيْلَةَ خَشْفَ نَعْلَيْكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " ، فَقَالَ : مَا عَمِلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي الإِسْلامِ عِنْدِي عَمَلا أَرْجَى مَنْفَعَةً مِنْ أَنِّي لَمْ أَتَطَهَّرْ طَهُورًا تَامًّا قَطُّ فِي سَاعَةٍ مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ إِلا صَلَّيْتُ بِذَلِكَ الطَّهُورِ لِرَبِّي مَا كَتَبَ لِي أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) at the time of Fajr prayer: "O Bilal, tell me about the deed you have done after embracing Islam from which you hope for the greatest benefit." Indeed, I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me in Paradise last night." He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, in my view, after embracing Islam, I have not done any deed from which I hope for more benefit, reward, and recompense than this: that whenever I performed a complete ablution, whether during the night or day, I offered as many voluntary prayers with that ablution for the sake of my Lord's pleasure as were destined for me to offer."
