جماع أبواب ذكر الماء الذي لا ينجس، والذي ينجس إذا خالطته نجاسةChapters on Water that is Pure and Impure
(93) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تَوْقِيتَ فِي قَدْرِ الْمَاءِ الَّذِي يَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ الْمَرْءُ، فَيَضِيقُ عَلَى الْمُتَوَضِّئِ أَنْ يَزِيدَ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْهُ،Chapter 93: Evidence that there is no fixed amount of water for ablution, and it is not restricted
Hadith 120
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، نا أَبُو خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَتَوَضَّأُ رِجَالا وَنِسَاءً ، وَنَغْسِلُ أَيْدِيَنَا فِي إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that during the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), we men and women used to perform ablution together and would wash our hands from the same vessel.
