(524) بَابُ ذِكْرِ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ وَبَعْدَهُنَّThe chapter on the Prophet's prayer before and after the obligatory prayers
Hadith 1196
حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نَا سُفْيَانُ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ ، نَا سُفْيَانُ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، نَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى إِثْرِ كُلِّ صَلاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ إِلا الْفَجْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ " . هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two rak'ahs after every obligatory prayer except Fajr and Asr. These are the words of the narration of Waki'.
