(516) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ أَنْ تُخَصَّ لَيْلَةُ الْجُمُعَةِ بِقِيَامٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ اللَّيَالِيThe chapter on the prohibition of singling out Friday night for night prayer over other nights
Hadith 1176
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَخُصُّوا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِصِيَامٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأَيَّامِ ، وَلا تَخُصُّوا لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِقِيَامٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ اللَّيَالِي "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not single out Friday among the rest of the days for fasting (as a voluntary fast), and do not single out the night of Friday among the other nights for performing the night prayer (Tahajjud)."
