(497) بَابُ التَّسَوُّكِ عِنْدَ الْقِيَامِ لِصَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِThe chapter on using the tooth-stick when getting up for night prayer
Hadith 1149
نَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَصِينٌ ، وَقَالَ هَارُونُ ، عَنْ حَصِينٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَصِينِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَصِينٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ لِلتَّهَجُّدِ يَشُوصُ فَاهُ بِالسِّوَاكِ " . وَقَالَ هَارُونُ ، وَأَبُو حَصِينٍ : إِذَا قَامَ يَتَهَجَّدُ
Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would wake up at night for Tahajjud, he would clean his blessed mouth with a miswak. Janab Harun and Abu Husayn have narrated in their version these words: "When he (peace be upon him) would get up and perform Tahajjud."
