(488) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ قَاعِدًا إِذَا مَرِضَ الْمَرْءُ أَوْ كَسِلَThe chapter on the recommendation to pray night prayer sitting if sick or tired
Hadith 1138
وَقَدْ رَوَى وَقَدْ رَوَى أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَنَّهُنَّ حَدَّثْنَهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ دَلَّ نَبِيَّهُ عَلَى دَلِيلٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُنَّ : أُدْلِلْنَنِي عَلَى مَا دَلَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ نَبِيَّهُ ، فَقُلْنَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ دَلَّ نَبِيَّهُ عَلَى قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ " . حَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ ابْنُ يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ
Abu Bakr bin Abdullah bin Abi Maryam narrates that Abdullah bin Abi Qais narrated a hadith to me from the Mothers of the Believers, they informed that Allah Almighty gave special guidance to His Prophet, so he asked the Mothers of the Believers to tell him about that guidance which Allah had given to His Prophet. Thus, they said, Allah Almighty had guided His Prophet regarding the standing in the night (Qiyam al-Lail).
