(487) بَابُ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ وَإِنْ كَانَ الْمَرْءُ وَجِعًا مَرِيضًا إِذَا قَدَرَ عَلَى الْقِيَامِ مَعَ الْوَجَعِ وَالْمَرَضِThe chapter on praying at night even if sick, if able to stand despite illness
Hadith 1136
نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ ، نَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، نَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ شَيْئًا ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَثَرَ الْوَجَعِ عَلَيْكَ لَبَيِّنٌ ، قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنِّي عَلَى مَا تَرَوْنَ بِحَمْدِ اللَّهِ قَدْ قَرَأْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ السَّبْعَ الطِّوَالَ "
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) felt some discomfort. When morning came, it was said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed the effect of the discomfort is very apparent on you." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Be aware, indeed despite this discomfort, all praise is due to Allah, last night I recited seven long surahs."
