جماع أبواب الركعتين قبل الفجر وما فيها من السننChapters on Two Rak‘ahs before Fajr and their Sunnahs
(468) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ تَخْفِيفِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ اقْتِدَاءً بِالنَّبِيِّ الْمُصْطَفَى صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،The chapter on the recommendation to make the two units before Fajr light, following the Prophet
Hadith 1112
قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَرَأَيْتَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلاةِ الْغَدَاةِ ، أُطِيلُ فِيهِمَا الْقِرَاءَةَ ؟ قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْغَدَاةِ كَأَنَّ الأَذَانَ بِأُذُنَيْهِ "
Anas bin Sirin narrates that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "Tell me, should I recite long (Qira'at) in the two rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer?" He replied, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the two rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer (so lightly) as if the call to prayer was being recited in his ears."
