(437) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْمُصَلِّي يُصَلِّي خَمْسَ رَكَعَاتٍ سَاهِيًاThe chapter on praying five units by mistake
Hadith 1057
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، نَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، وَمُغِيرَةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى خَمْسًا ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : لا ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led five rak‘ahs in prayer. He was asked whether the prayer had been increased. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No." Then, upon realizing the actual situation, he performed two prostrations.
