باب وصف الجنة وأهلها - ذكر الخبر المدحض قول من زعم أن رؤية المؤمنين ربهم في المعاد إنما هي بقلوبهم دون أبصارهم-

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ نَاسٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ نَرَى رَبَّنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ؟ قَالَ : " هَلْ تُضَارُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَةِ الشَّمْسِ فِي يَوْمِ صَائِفٍ ، وَالسَّمَاءُ مُصْحِيَةٌ ، غَيْرُ مُتَغَيِّمَةٍ ، لَيْسَ فِيهَا سَحَابَةٌ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : لا ، قَالَ : " فَهَلْ تُضَارُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَةِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ ، وَالسَّمَاءُ مُصْحِيَةٌ ، غَيْرُ مُتَغَيِّمَةٍ ، لَيْسَ فِيهَا سَحَابَةٌ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : لا ، قَالَ : " فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، كَذَلِكَ لا تُضَارُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَةِ رَبِّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، كَمَا لا تُضَارُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَةِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا ، يَلْقَى الْعَبْدُ رَبَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلا : أَيْ فُلُ ، أَلَمْ أَخْلُقْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أَجْعَلْكَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا ؟ أَلَمْ أُزَوِّجْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أَكْرِمْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أُسَخِّرْ لَكَ الْخَيْلَ وَالإِبِلَ ؟ أَلَمْ أُسَوِّدْكَ وَأَذَرْكَ تَرْأَسُ وَتَرْبَعُ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : بَلَى أَيْ رَبِّ ، فَيَقُولُ : فَظَنَنْتَ أَنَّكَ مُلاقِيَّ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : لا يَا رَبِّ ، فَيَقُولُ : الْيَوْمَ أَنْسَاكَ كَمَا نَسِيتَنِي ، قَالَ : وَيَلْقَاهُ الآخَرُ ، فَيَقُولُ : أَيْ فُلُ ، أَلَمْ أَخْلُقْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أَجْعَلْكَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا ؟ أَلَمْ أُزَوِّجْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أُكْرِمْكَ ؟ أَلَمْ أُسَخِّرْ لَكَ الْخَيْلَ وَالإِبِلَ ؟ أَلَمْ أُسَوِّدْكَ وَأَذَرْكَ تَرْأَسُ وَتَرْبَعُ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : بَلَى يَا رَبِّ ، فَيَقُولُ : فَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِي ؟ فَيَقُولُ : آمَنْتُ بِكَ وَبِكِتَابِكَ ، وَبِرَسُولِكَ ، وَصَدَّقْتُ ، وَصَلَّيْتُ ، وَصُمْتُ ، فَيَقُولُ : فَهَا هُنَا إِذًا ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : أَلا نَبْعَثُ عَلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : فَيُفَكِّرُ فِي نَفْسِهِ مَنْ هَذَا الَّذِي يَشْهَدُ عَلَيَّ ؟ قَالَ : وَذَلِكَ الْمُنَافِقُ الَّذِي يَغْضَبُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَذَلِكَ لِيُعْذِرَ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ ، فَيُخْتَمُ عَلَى فِيهِ ، وَيُقَالُ لِفَخِذِهِ : انْطِقِي ، فَتَنْطِقُ فَخِذُهُ ، وَعِظَامُهُ ، وَعَصَبُهُ ، بِمَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ ، ثُمَّ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ ، أَلا اتَّبَعَتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ مَا كَانَتْ تَعْبُدُ ، فَيَتْبَعُ عَبْدَةُ الصَّلِيبِ الصَّلِيبَ ، وَعَبْدَةُ النَّارِ النَّارَ ، وَعَبْدَةُ الأَوْثَانِ الأَوْثَانَ ، وَعَبْدَةُ الشَّيْطَانِ الشَّيْطَانَ ، وَيَتْبَعُ كُلُّ طَاغِيَةٍ طَاغِيَتَهَا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ ، وَنَبْقَى أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ، وَنَحْنُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فَيَأْتِينَا رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى ، وَنَحْنُ قِيَامٌ ، فَيَقُولُ : عَلامَ هَؤُلاءِ قِيَامٌ ؟ فَنَقُولُ : نَحْنُ عِبَادُ اللَّهِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ ، وَلَمْ نُشْرِكْ بِهِ شَيْئًا ، وَهَذَا مَقَامُنَا ، وَلَنْ نَبْرَحَ حَتَّى يَأْتِينَا رَبُّنَا ، وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا ، وَهُوَ يُثَبِّتُنَا ، فَيَقُولُ : وَهَلْ تَعْرِفُونَهُ ؟ فَنَقُولُ : سُبْحَانَهُ إِذَا اعْتَرَفَ لَنَا عَرَفْنَاهُ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : وَهَهُنَا كَلِمَةٌ لا أَقُولُهَا لَكُمْ ، قَالَ : فَنَنْطَلِقُ حَتَّى نَأْتِي الْجِسْرَ وَعَلَيْهِ خَطَاطِيفُ مِنْ نَارٍ تَخْطَفُ النَّاسَ ، وَعِنْدَهَا حَلَّتِ الشَّفَاعَةُ ، اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْ سَلِّمْ ، اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْ سَلِّمْ ، اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْ سَلِّمْ ، فَإِذَا جَاوَزَ الْجِسْرَ ، فَكُلُّ مَنْ أَنْفَقَ زَوْجًا مِنَ الْمَالِ مِمَّا يَمْلِكُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، فَكُلُّ خَزَنَةِ الْجَنَّةِ تَدَعُوهُ : يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، يَا مُسْلِمُ هَذَا خَيْرٌ ، فَتَعَالَ ، يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، يَا مُسْلِمُ ، هَذَا خَيْرٌ ، فَتَعَالَ ، يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، يَا مُسْلِمُ ، هَذَا خَيْرٌ ، فَتَعَالَ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهُوَ إِلَى جَنْبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ذَاكَ عَبْدٌ لا تَوَى عَلَيْهِ ، يَدَعُ بَابًا ، وَيَلِجُ مِنْ آخَرَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَسَحَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ : " إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun on a clear day when there are no clouds in the sky?" The people replied, "No." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon when the sky is clear and there are no clouds?" The people replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, in the same way, you will have no difficulty in seeing your Lord on the Day of Resurrection, just as you have no difficulty in seeing either of these (the sun and the moon)."
On the Day of Resurrection, a servant will be presented before his Lord, and the Lord will say, "O so-and-so! Did I not create you? Did I not grant you the ability to see and hear? Did I not get you married? Did I not honor you? Did I not subjugate horses and camels for you? Did I not make you wealthy?" He will reply, "Yes, O my Lord!" The Lord will say, "Did you ever think that you would meet Me?" He will reply, "No, O my Lord." The Lord will say, "Today I will forget you just as you forgot Me."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then another person will be presented before his Lord. The Lord will say, "O so-and-so, did I not create you? Did I not grant you hearing and sight? Did I not get you married? Did I not honor you? Did I not subjugate horses and camels for you? Did I not make you wealthy?" He will reply, "Yes, O my Lord." The Lord will say, "What preparation did you make for Me?" He will reply, "I believed in You, in Your Book, and in Your Messenger. I glorified You, I performed prayer, I fasted." The Lord will say, "Well then, shall We not bring witnesses against you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That servant will think in his heart, "Who can bear witness against me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is the hypocrite upon whom Allah will be angry. Therefore, Allah will excuse him and a seal will be set upon his mouth, and it will be said to his thighs, "Speak!" So his thighs, his bones, his muscles will speak about what he used to do.
Then a caller will announce: "Beware! Every nation should follow that which it used to worship." So the worshippers of the cross will follow the cross, the worshippers of fire will follow the fire, the worshippers of idols will follow the idols, the worshippers of Satan will follow Satan. Every worshipper of a tyrant will follow the tyrant towards Hell. O people of faith, then we will remain, we who are believers. Our Lord will come to us. We will be standing, and He will say, "Why are you standing here?" We will reply, "We are the believing servants of Allah. We believed in Him, we did not associate anyone with Him. We will remain standing here until our Lord comes. He is our Lord, He will keep us firm." Then the Lord will say, "Do you recognize Him?" We will say, "Glory be to Him! When He introduces Himself to us, we will recognize Him."
The narrator named Sufyan says: There is a word here which I will not mention before you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then we will proceed until we come to the Bridge (Sirat) over which there will be hooks made of fire, snatching people. At that place, intercession will be permitted (and it will be said): "O Allah! Grant safety, grant safety. O Allah, grant safety, grant safety. O Allah, grant safety, grant safety." When we cross the bridge, then every person who spent a pair of anything from his wealth in the way of Allah, all the gatekeepers of Paradise will call him and say, "O servant of Allah, O Muslim, this is better. Come here! O servant of Allah, O Muslim, come here, this is better. O servant of Allah, O Muslim, come here, this is better."
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said—he was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at that time—"Such a person will not suffer any harm; he will enter from one gate or another." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his shoulder and said, "I hope that you will be one of them."
