Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was in Makkah. The roof of my house was opened and Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) descended. He opened my chest and washed it with the water of Zamzam. Then he brought a basin filled with wisdom and faith. He poured it into my chest and then closed it up. Then he took my hand and ascended with me towards the sky. When we reached the lowest heaven, Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) said to the guardian of the lowest heaven: Open the door. He asked: Who is it? He replied: Jibril. He asked: Is there anyone with you? He replied: With me is Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He asked: Has he been sent for? He replied: Yes! So the door was opened. When we ascended to the lowest heaven, there was a man there, on his right were many people and on his left were many people. When he looked to his right, he would laugh, and when he looked to his left, he would weep. He said: Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I asked: O Jibril, who is this? He replied: This is Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), and those on his right and left are his offspring. Those on his right are the people of Paradise, and those on his left are the people of Hell. When he looks to his right, he laughs, and when he looks to his left, he weeps.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then Jibril took me to the second heaven. He said to its guardian: Open the door. Its guardian asked him the same as the guardian of the lowest heaven had asked. Then he opened the door.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), Sayyiduna Idris (peace be upon him), Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him), Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him), and Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in the heavens. May Allah's blessings be upon Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and upon them. However, the narrator did not clarify the specific locations of these individuals. He only mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) in the lowest heaven and Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in the sixth heaven. Ibn Shihab Zuhri says: Ibn Hazm informed me that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Sayyiduna Abu Habba Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then he ascended with me until I reached the Station of Istawa, where I heard the sound of the pens moving."

Ibn Hazm says: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There, Allah made fifty prayers obligatory upon my Ummah. I returned and passed by Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) asked: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I replied: He has enjoined fifty prayers upon them. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) said: Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I returned to my Lord and He reduced them by half. I returned to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) and informed him. He said: Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I turned to my Lord and He said: These will be five prayers, but they will be counted as fifty. Our word does not change. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I returned to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) and informed him. He said: Return to your Lord. I said: I feel shy before my Lord.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then he (i.e., Jibril) proceeded with me until he brought me to Sidrat al-Muntaha, which was covered with various colors. I do not know what they were. Then I was admitted into Paradise, where there were buildings made of pearls and its soil was like musk.
